Kenya Population Based HIV Impact Assessment Survey (KENPHIA II)

Kenya Population-Based HIV Impact Assessment (KENPHIA) II provides key information for health policymakers and implementers on the extent of the HIV pandemic, the impact that recent and ongoing HIV programming is having on the pandemic, and a gap assessment of key areas requiring further focus in the fight against HIV.

KENPHIA II is a household-based survey that will include engagement of teams to collect information at household and individual level using standardized household, individual adult, adolescent, and childrens questionnaires on access to health services at facility and community level, social behavioral risk for HIV, HIV testing, care and treatment, sexually transmitted infections, non-communicable diseases, Mental health, Cervical Cancer amongst other relevant topics.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) through the National AIDS and STI Control Programme (NASCOP) will lead the implementation, in collaboration with the Centre for International Health, Education, and Biosecurity (Ciheb) Kenya. Technical assistance will be provided by the US Presidents Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB)
